I'm having my first solo gallery exhibit at the Community Music School in Trappe, PA. It's so wonderful to have space to show nearly all my quilts at once!

The opening night of the show is Saturday, January 14th at 7PM with a wine and cheese reception. This will be followed by a piano concert at 8PM.

Design Wall

I just made myself an 8' x8' design wall for my sewing studio. I used rigid foam insulation and covered it with 2 layers of batting and a king size flannel sheet. You cannot imagine how wonderful it is to have a large enough space to see the whole quilt at once!

Also, I've displayed my latest quilt started back in January. It had a major stall when I was spending all my time practicing quilting on my new longarm machine. Now I just need to get up the nerve to actually quilt it.

BlueHouse Wallhanging

My daughter, Katie, requested a wallhanging done all in shades of blue for her "Blue House". She also requested fabrics with metallic gold so this really shimmers. It makes you think of sun reflecting off the sea. It ships to Virginia today!

Pillows Find Homes

Here is a photo showing where one of my pillows is displayed. The brother of a customer received this as a gift. It reflects the bright tangerine walls of the powder room. I used bright orange & magenta cross weave silk stamped with a copper gingko leaf. It's also bordered with a charteuse band of silk.

These are a couple of pillows I made for a customer who ordered them for a gift for beach home of a friend. I stamped some fish on a couple of the blocks and used brightly colored batiks, linen and silk.

It's almost embarrassing to realize how much sewing I've done since January! Thanks to all the fabric selections and brainstorming I've done with Karen Jantzi, the ideas keep flowing. It's all so much fun. We hit Marmelsteins the last week of December and found all their embroidered silks on sale - thus all the silk pillows. I've also tried using the ikats from Thailand and Vietnam in pillows with fun results.

I started this quilt in 1996 and had it partially completed but got discouraged and quit. This fall I discovered it and decided to finish it. The design is classic enough that it doesn't seem dated. This is large enough to fit a full size bed. I have it hanging in the foyer where it's too high to get a good photo for now. I'll have to take it outside when the weather is nice to get a better one. When will that be??
